What is a learning management system (LMS)?

A learning management system (LMS) is the website your school uses to run courses online: syllabi, readings, announcements, assignment submissions and grades. Common ones are Canvas, Brightspace (D2L), Moodle and Blackboard.

How does an LMS work?

Each course gets its own page where the professor posts materials and deadlines, and where you submit work and see feedback. You usually sign in with your school account.

Schools brand their LMS differently (for example, a school's own name for Canvas), and every professor sets up their course page a little differently, so dates can hide in different places.

How Dash helps with your LMS

Sign in to Canvas, Brightspace, Moodle or Blackboard on Dash's secure page once, and Dash reads your courses and deadlines into one list. It never sees your password.

When a professor moves a date or posts an announcement, Dash can catch it and mention it in your morning briefing.

Questions students ask

Can Dash submit assignments in my LMS?

No. Dash never writes, answers or submits graded work. It reads deadlines and helps you plan and study.
