How do I get my syllabus dates onto my calendar?
- Send the syllabusText a photo of the printed page, a screenshot, or the PDF your professor posted. One course at a time or all of them at once.
- Check what Dash foundDash lists the dates it pulled out, with weights where the syllabus gives them, so you can fix anything before it's saved.
- Say yesDash adds the dates to your calendar and sets reminders. Nothing goes on your calendar until you approve it.
What does Dash pull out of a syllabus?
- Assignments, problem sets and lab reports with due dates
- Quizzes, tests, midterms and finals
- How much each one is worth, when the syllabus says
- Anything else you ask it to keep, like office hours or a project milestone
What if the syllabus says "date TBA"?
Dash saves it as a date to confirm and asks you about it later. When the professor announces it, text Dash the date, or let it catch the update in your learning system or email if you've connected them.
Questions students ask
Does it work with a blurry photo?
Usually, yes. If Dash can't read a date clearly, it tells you which one and asks instead of guessing.
Do I have to use a calendar?
No. Dash adds dates to your calendar only if you say yes. Either way, it keeps every date and texts you reminders.
Can I send all my syllabi at once?
Yes. Send them one after another and Dash sorts the dates by course.
What if my course is on Canvas instead?
You can sign in to Canvas, Brightspace, Moodle or Blackboard on Dash's secure page and it reads your courses from there.
